Frequently asked questions

Can I wear a hard hat after a transplant?

Not for at least three to four weeks. Anything that presses on the recipient area risks dislodging grafts early on and causing irritation later.

When can I swim?

Around four weeks for pools, and similar for the sea. Chlorine and salt both irritate healing skin, and immersion carries an infection risk earlier than that.

Will people at work notice?

During week one, yes, there is visible redness and crusting. By day ten to fourteen most men are not obviously post-procedure. A loose cap helps in the interim.

Can I take annual leave for the recovery?

Most men take between one and two weeks. Booking the procedure before a weekend gives you two extra days without using leave.
